Karlik dance theater Founded in Cáceres in 1991, the company's mission is to create its own unique stage language. This year marks its 34th anniversary, with its professional career backed by over 3,500 performances for over 80,000 spectators in 32 countries, hundreds of rave reviews, and more than 21 national and international awards. Since its founding under the artistic direction of Cristina D. Silveira and the technical direction of David Pérez Hernando, it has produced 37 shows and has worked numerous times at renowned festivals such as:
Mérida Festival (Spain), Bogotá Ibero-American Festival and Manizales Festival (Colombia), Aurillac and Mimus Perigueux Festival (France), Hannover World's Fair (Germany), Mercosur Festival (Argentina), Teatro a Mil (Chile), Uijeongbu Theatre Festival (Korea), among others...
In 2007, the company created the Center for Management of Scenic Resources La Nave del Duende, in Casar de Cáceres (Spain), with the aim of continuing the processes of research, training, and the search for new forms of creation and exhibition. In 2015, he created the Performing Arts Research Laboratory. La Puerta ABierta thereby opening a third path to offer evolution and progress in the development of new stage languages.
DAVID PEREZ HERNANDO
PRODUCER
Co-founder of the company and a performing arts professional since 1991, he has produced and distributed more than 30 shows performed around the world (Korea, France, Germany, Italy, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, Portugal, Morocco, etc.). His work has garnered hundreds of rave reviews and more than 20 national and international awards.
Among other fields, he studied law, a master's degree in business finance, theater management and production, labor law, theater lighting, and audience development.
He combines his work as a producer and distributor with the design and production of theatrical lighting.
Co-founder and director of the La Nave del Duende Performing Arts Resource Management Center since its opening in 2007, a space dedicated to creation with its own research and exhibition scholarship program.
As a trainer, he teaches workshops on stage management models, production and distribution of shows, and the application of lighting techniques to theatrical performances.
