SYNOPSIS
"Licentiate Vidriera," the protagonist of one of Cervantes' most celebrated novels, is undoubtedly one of the most delightful characters to come from the pen of Miguel de Cervantes.
"El Licenciado Vidriera" is a short novel belonging to the "Novelas ejemplares" (Exemplary Novels), written between 1590 and 1612, but not compiled until 1613 by Cervantes himself, following the acclaim for the first part of Don Quixote. "Licenciado Vidriera" is our adaptation, based on a contemporary theatrical research process.
Textual and physical theater and contemporary dance merge with flamenco, which becomes a symbol of the protagonist's moan and cry of madness. This flamenco is performed live by guitarist and singer Alberto Moreno, who also accompanies and narrates the vicissitudes of "El Licenciado," played by Jorge Barrantes.
An adaptation of the text inspired by new concepts of dramaturgy, but respecting the original work and Cervantine language.
With a scenographic approach laden with visual poetry, a conceptual work of objects and symbolism is produced where the elements acquire diverse meanings, in which video creations also play a leading role.
